Step 1: Locate Your Paint Code

Find your vehicle's paint code on the driver's side door jamb or under the hood. Look for a label with color information. The code is typically 3-4 characters and identifies your exact paint color. Take a photo of the code for reference when ordering your spray paint supplies.

Step 2: Prepare Your Surface

Clean the area thoroughly and sand the surface with fine-grit sandpaper to remove any dirt, rust, or old paint. Wipe away all dust with a tack cloth. Mask off surrounding areas with painter's tape and drop cloths to protect them from overspray. Proper preparation ensures a smooth, professional-looking finish.

Step 3: Apply Your Paint

Apply thin, even coats of spray paint in a well-ventilated area, holding the can 6-8 inches from the surface. Use smooth, overlapping strokes and allow proper drying time between coats. Typically, 2-3 coats are needed for full coverage. Once dry, remove the tape carefully and apply a clear coat for protection and shine.
